Questions

Thank you for taking the time to look at our web site.
Are you registered with the appropriate bodies?

We are registered as an employment agency with CSCI (commission for social care inspections).

How much will it cost?

Fees are given on assessment, and can vary depending on the clients needs but generally start at £567.00 a week.

Do you charge for assessment?

A minimal charge may be made to cover travel depending on the distance.

What is live in care?

The carer stays with the client on an ongoing basis, usually two carers are allocated per client to cover sickness and holiday.

How long will my care last?

As long as you want it or need it.

What do I need to provide the carer with?

Gloves and aprons if needed, and the carer is expected to live board and lodging free.

What about sleeping arrangements?

The carers need to have a room of their own to sleep in with a comfortable bed and linen, somewhere to put their clothes, and a TV in their room is preferable. If you do not have a spare room maybe a dining room or something similar could be converted into a bedroom.

What if I don’t like my carer?

We supply a 24 hour emergency number for you to contact us if you are at all concerned, another carer can be sent and you will never be left on your own, we are happy to liaise with clients, friends and families to ensure the service runs smoothly.

Will the carer look after my pets?

As long as it was discussed on assessment, and the carer is comfortable with it there shouldn’t be a problem.

Will the carer take me out?

The carers are happy to accompany you on outings, shopping etc.

What sort of qualifications will the carers have?

All of our carer have experience in care, and we aim to match the carers skills to the clients needs

Do they have references?

References are taken before the carers are sent on assignment; copies are available of the references on placement.

What will the carers do for me?

The carer will do household duties, errands, help with the running of the house such as bills, social outings, companionship, and personal care.

Will my carer work day and night?

Although the carers are 24 hour, they will need a break in the day, time out for themselves, we recommend 2.5 hours a day at an agreed time between client and carer. The carer should only work 12 hours a day and be on call during the night, if the client needs care through out the day and night, either another carer will need to be supplied or a night carer will need to be put into place.
